On the usual scorching Malaysian weather.

They say art is a form of expression. I believe that is very much so.

The habit
I have a strangely fashionable (but potentially destructive) habit when it comes to the car I'm driving. Well basically the whole thing is that the car must be as spotless as possible (one of my OCD la). Just today, it took me 3 hours to wash, polish and wax just half my car. Yes, just half; the whole front and the whole right side of it.
3 whole hours just for merely half a car. Worse still, I haven't even touched the wheels yet. With that said, cleaning the whole car would take the whole blasted day. And that's excluding the interior, and the engine bay (for the record, I do clean the engine bay once in a blue moon). Scary. I digress.
Time is one factor. But don't get me started on how this habit is capable of burning up my whole wallet.

But with this kind of gloss, the reflections alone kind of gives the 3 hours spent at least some extenuating justification.
And now it's raining all over my freshly half-washed car. Bah.

Life's hectic. Revisions aplenty. Workload piling. Card reader being anything but helpful. All of these are contributing factors to the lack of updates on my blog. Hence I'd like to say it is not my fault for the lack of updates. Please pick one of the excuses aforementioned for the blaming. Thank you.
Just wanted to throw in a mini update and share this epic line from one of my university friends. This was during a conversation regarding our less than satisfactory productivity levels (in relation to studies, just so you'd know).
Yes, now we all know that I have friends who are more productive at night. But then again, I have to admit that I work better at night which also makes me a productive creature at night. I guess it's the temperature. Wonder how some can stay productive in the blistering Malaysian heat.

Just in case you people have forgotten how I look like. That's Pauline by the way. Photo was taken during the first few minutes of 2009 (was @ the countdown in Sunway Pyramid) & credits goes to Mr John Foo who is stuck somewhere in Australia.

"no la, i'm productive at night"
"wait, that sounds wrong"

Air Force 1
New AF-1's. All new, white and coated with a good layer of fresh shoe wax. Told you I'm a closet sneakerhead.
Equipment: 5D + 24-105mm f4 L

Bought these a couple of days ago @ MidValley's Nike store. It was one of the fastest shopping Sammy has ever seen in her life. According to her; "It was so fast, it's scary". Well I think it's just normal when you mix me up with marked down AF-1's. Sweet stuff.

Sunday night/Monday morning
Sammy's back. Even Syafiq was back for the weekend. I knew Sammy since my form 6 days while Syafiq's a dinasour dating back all the way to form 1. I feel lucky to think that I have such great friends. Anyway, drove them all the way to Solaris hoping to find a spot for a good early morning cuppa (it was midnight, you see).
But no, we were reduced to going back to SS2 for Murni's. But it was still a great morning nevertheless. Not to mention, at least the view from Solaris was nice.

You can actually see Genting Highlands right at the back. It was very visible that night; guess it wasn't too foggy up there. I sense another driving session all the way up. Soon I guess, real soon.

Proton @ night
Equipment: 5D + 24-105mm f4 L

Ignore the quality, this is a very ad-hoc test shoot thingy of this new location I've discovered.
Am still looking for that "sweet spot" in my post-processing. This isn't exactly an easy task especially when I'm reduced to shooting an orange bog-standard Proton. It's probably just my Proton's fault. It's a very uninspiring subject I swear. Any kind readers with an "interesting" car out there? Care to volunteer ye ride as me subject?
Am shooting more RAW these days. But my 512MB card is seriously too small for RAWs as they take up really frickking huge amounts of space per shot (think generating 12MB files everytime you press the shutter button). Am looking into investing in a bigger card as soon as my budget allows.
p/s: my mouse is showing signs of going senile. Will replace this with a good one as soon as my budget allows (recession la, must jimat). A new Razer perhaps?

post-Jason Mraz

Camera: N95
To those who didn't come/didn't want to come/coerced not to come/etc, you've all missed out on one big heck of a concert. I've only one word to sum it all up; awesomeness. It's not exactly a valid word but I don't care quietlah you.
After the concert, we camped at the backstage entrance/exit
p/s: wanna see something delicious again?

Alexis

This is Alexis (I don't know why I'm picturing Alexis with their chairs, but heck). Their drinks and food leaves much to be desired. Hence I am preplexed as to why they're still getting a steady stream of customers despite the disappointing food.

However, their Pavlova and Tiramisu is to die for. Superbly copacetic I'll say. And that's the only reason why I bother to drop by Alexis once in a blue moon. Am glad that they're still consistent with their to-die-for cakes. I think I'll go for another round soon.
