Who moved my bacon?

Camera: EOS 5D MK1 (with a bloody faulty battery)
Lens: 24-105mm f4 L (IMHO, one of Canon's best general purpose lens)

Photos were taken back when I was out for a night shoot with Mr.John, who is now in some random state in Australia which I never even knew existed. Night urban photography is teh shit.

On an unrelated note; It's annoying when dinner's late. Starving isn't my favourite pastime nor is studying. Anyhow dinner should be arriving soon (pending on traffic conditions) and I'll have to consume my law notes for dessert. Finals coming up in 2 months is reason enough for me to lose some sleep. Stressnya.

Speaking of dinner, wanna see something delicious?

CNY 09

Apologies for the obscenely overdue entry. I blame DL1, DL2, DL3 and DL4 for their generous clogging up of my schedule. Anyway not like anyone of you would be interested in my subject codes. Here are the selected bunch (think editor's pick) of photographs taken by yours truly.

Camera: EOS 5D MK1 (with flash gun)
Lens: 24-70mm f2.8 L (quite the cacat lens, more on this later)

G-mama's gift; ring and necklace for Unc Ben & Aunt Amy. I have a sweet photo of them in their traditional outfits but sadly the background is anything but flattering. Those who have access to my photos would probably know what I'm talking about.

Now at this point I'd like to point out that the particular lens I was using, the 24-70mm f2.8 L, actually had a mind of it's own. It had probably convinced itself (grammar?) that it was a photo editor cum critique in it's past life and it's as hell as determined to not let me have my own way. Hence the slightly out of focus images. Blimey.

Either that or the 5D body that I was using had convinced itself that it's a cow in it's past life and will not work properly and would only want to loiter around in the mud all day long. But too bad it doesn't have any limbs or I'd have to pay for a missing 5D. More blimey.

These buggers actually locked themselves in a dark room while playing Left4Dead. Awesome game I have to admit. Wouldn't like to install it in my Dell, kills my productivity level big time, you see.

The obligatory 'yee sang' tossing. Done purely for the sake of tradition I'd say. If it wasn't for the tradition I wouldn't be bothered messing around with a big plate of food.

The obligatory family photo thingo. Somehow I can sense a torrent of 'sepet' jokes coming my way. Don't you start.

p/s: apologies for the long entry. There's no other way for me to present these photos unless I do it in 2 parts, which is not what I want to do considering it's still the same amount I'm publishing. Kebodohan.

Some say, it's good to sleep early and wake up early. I digress. I am usually as lively as a diseased sloth in the afternoon and I tend to be more productive at night. I'm biologically like this, don't judge me.

Photo shot in Syafiq's Honda City @ about 1am in the morning. No that's not me at the wheel.

Genesis

Quite frankly, these are the 3 cars that started it all. As of today, I'm lucky to have the opportunity to photograph quite a number of cars but nevertheless, these are my Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus.

p/s: Malaysian weather is real murderous lately.

Doors

Interestingly, I have always harboured an intention to develope a certain "style" with my photographs. I am pretty confident with my post-processing as it seems to have a consistent method to it, but the same can't be said for my composition as they're all as consistent as the weekly contents in the dustbin outside of my house.

Hence I shall start developing some consistency. I've first experimented with the Tiguan and the Porsche's interior and I have to say, it's going quite well (I'm being optimistic here, results aren't that nice). But anyway, here are my results.

Do pay little attention to the imperfections on the doors. I suppose they're inflicted by some careless arms of them test drivers. 2 cars, 2 doors, 1 style. How's this for consistent?

___________________________________________________________________________________

On an unrelated note;

There are many things that can be considered as ‘wrong’ in this world. Like wearing a long-sleeved shirt tucked into a pair of Bermuda is wrong, sending a text message saying “bed me” instead of “add me” (I blame my T9) is very wrong, and casually staring at me in the male locker room is very very wrong.

To the dude in the male locker room, you've managed to creep the bejesus out of me. Why don't you go eye something more worthwhile, like a water dispenser for example?

New Tiger

I have to admit, I am a bit of a closet-sneakerhead myself. Hence I was reduced to a salivating lump of protein at the sight of these pretties.

Allow me to introduce you to them. They are a pair of white sneakers from Nike's Classic SB line up. And here's the juicy part; these are the Tiger Edition from Horitaka's 4 Guardians pack. Honestly, this purchase is totally worth it as it doesn't come along with any sense of remorse, not even a smidge of em! Yay me.

Heed my warning; this entry could be a wee bit 'disturbing' for the discerning few.

Everyone, (from bottom to top) meet Sir Wax, Mr.Smaller Wax, and Jr.Even Smaller Wax. Actually the smallest one is also my g-spot (according to Quin) hence I shall now announce that I have found my g-spot. Oh and it also doubles as a keychain. Joy of joys.

Disturbing, no?

Why we all should be wary of Wikipedia

Was cramming for my criminal test in a state of panic (Quin won't forgive me if I were to score badly, you see) and I happened to come across something really hilarious. Thought you all might need to see this.

Now do you know why you're not allowed to cite Wikipedia in assignments?

Porsche 911 PDK interior

The insides of the Porsche 911 PDK.

As expected of a car with a price tag of over RM800,000, it's anything but shabby in here. Everything is so nice to touch and fondle as the material and build quality is top notch. I so need one of these in my life.

Bangsar Night

Location was at the roundabout near Lucky Garden. The trees were bathed with light from nearby street lamps. Oh how gorgeous they were. All of these photos weren't shot with long shutter but instead, shot with high ISO setting and maximum aperture opening. I wanted my results to be sharp, you see.

Was also experimenting with lens flare that night with a Canon 24-105mm f4L IS mounted on a 5D body, resulting in surprisingly salient lens flares I'd say. From what I can tell, it's a proper good lens if you want some lens flare on your photos. However, it was annoyingly difficult to nail the correct angle as only 10% of my shots were acceptable. What you see is only 4% of the amount I've taken that night.

Here are my final results.

Interestingly, on that night I came across something you wouldn't encounter on a common basis. It was a swarm of bugs (apologies, I don't know the name of the bug) fluttering around a street lamp. Unfortunately, some of them dispersed by the time I'm done with the camera settings. The swarm was much bigger than what you see here, I swear.

p/s: I am very very indecisive as to how much I should resize my photos as this layout isn't exactly what I'd call 'designed for vertical shots'. Much annoying. Anyway, Porsche interior photos up next. Sorry for the messed up sequence.
